VIEW LOOKING EAST FROM UPPER MAIN STREET

vieweast
Photo taken early 1900s.

This picture looking east on Main Street was taken in the early 1900s. In the foreground on the north side of the street stands the Methodist Church. The house built by F. L. Riley, the founder of the town, is midway between the Methodist Church and the Baptist Church, whose steeple is visible in the distance. Early residents of the town recognize the cherry tree which grew in the middle of Main Street.
