GATHERING ON MAIN STREET LOOKING WEST

gathering
Photo taken prior to 1917.

This picture of a gathering on Main Street was taken sometime prior to 1917 since the New Hebron Baptist Church, which burned in 1917, appears in the picture. In the right foreground is the F. L. Riley Mercantile. Farther up the street the steeple of the Baptist Church can be seen. Still farther west on Main Street the steeple of the Methodist Church can be seen on the north side of the street. In the left foreground, on the corner of Main Street and Franklin Street can be seen the original Hebron Bank building. Across Franklin Street from the bank can be seen Gibson's general store with its ornate storefront.
