Andrew Lee

Andrew Lee -- Fort Johnson, North Carolina -- Andrew Lee (b. ca. 1789 New Hanover County, North Carolina , d. 1878 Barnwell District, South Carolina), son of Solomon Lee and Temperance Spearman Lee of New Hanover County, North Carolina.

According to information in his pension record, Andrew Lee served as a private in the company of Capt. Washington Bennyman's [Bannerman] company of North Carolina militia volunteers in the War of 1812. He was mustered in at Fort Johnson, North Carolina, in 1814 and was discharged later the same year at Fort Johnson. His pension record is abstracted by Annie Walker Burns in North Carolina Pension Abstracts of the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Indian Wars.

Bryant Lee

Bryant Lee -- Bryant Lee (b. ca. 1779 New Hanover County, North Carolina , d. 1815 Louisiana), son of Solomon Lee and Temperance Spearman Lee of New Hanover County, North Carolina.

In a compiled list of Louisiana soldiers in the War of 1812, Briant Lea is shown to be a private in De Clouet's Reg't of the Louisiana Militia. It is that regiment that appears in Briant Lea's estate papers of 1815. In the court of the Honorable James Tate, Judge of the Parish of St. Tammany, the petition of James Thomas [brother-in-law] humbly sheweth that Briant Lea of the Parish of St. Tammany and State of Louisiana being in the service of the United States, a private in Captain John K. Goff Company of drafted Militia, sometime in March last died Intestate and without Issue.

David Lee

David Lee -- Fort Johnson, North Carolina -- David Lee (b. 1797-98 New Hanover County, North Carolina , d. 1 Nov 1869 Williston, Barnwell District, South Carolina), son of Solomon Lee and Temperance Spearman Lee of New Hanover County, North Carolina.

According to information in his widow's pension claim, David Lee during the War of 1812 was a private in the company of Capt. George W. Bennerman [Bannerman]; he volunteered in Hanover County, North Carolina, in July of 1814 and served 14 days, being discharged at Fort Johnson July or August of 1814, apparently enlisting and being discharged with his brother, Andrew. The pension claim of David Lee's widow, Christiana, for his service in the War of 1812, is abstracted by Annie Walker Burns in North Carolina Pension Abstracts of the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Indian Wars.

Nathan Sirmon

Nathan Sirmon -- Fort Hawkins, Georgia -- Nathan Sirmon (b. 1786, d. 17 Apr 1850), son of Levi Sirmon of Pitt County, North Carolina, and Montgomery County, Georgia.

A Muster Roll taken on 10 Aug 1814 indicates that Nathan Sirmon was at Camp Pike near Fort Hawkins, Georgia. A second Muster Roll shows nathan Sermon at Fort Hawkins from 10 Aug 1814, through 7 Feb 1815. The Company Pay Roll indicates that Nathan Sermon's residence was Jasper County, Georgia, and that he lived 38 miles from Fort Hawkins.
