HISTORIES OF OUR FAMILIES

Our Interest in Family History

After the death of our grandparents more than twenty years ago, we became keenly aware of the importance of discovering and preserving our heritage. Trunks filled with old pictures, Bible pages fragile with age, broken tombstones amid weeds and brambles in old cemeteries -- all of these opened doors to the past, and our forebears lived again in our imaginations. And we began our search to learn all we could about them. We are indebted to many who generously shared their knowledge and resources with us. Recognizing the value of that sharing, we hope that this Web Site on our family histories will have sharing as its purpose. We hope that you will find something here that is meaningful and helpful as you search for information on your family. We will continue to add information to our site as time permits. Please visit often to watch us grow.

Family Histories

When you go to either of our personal home pages, you will find a Site Guide with links to individual family histories as well as Genealogy Reports. A family history chosen from our personal home pages will lead you to a brief discussion of the movement of the family from its earliest known location to the location where that family settled in the 1900s. The genealogy report link will lead you to an index of genealogy reports for various families. You will also find a link that will take you to an index of other related family web sites.

The families listed below are those we have researched during the past twenty-five years. You can reach those families available on this web site by choosing either of our personal home pages.

Documents

When available, you will find a Documents section in the Site Guide on the family home page of the chosen family. Documents may include accounts, cemeteries, deeds, inventories, wills, and other records associated with family members in counties of different states. Also in this section you may find information about early family members who lived in a particular state.
