#1 25800 Stephen Surman
Stephen born c. 1500-1554 of Buckland, Berkshire. He married Joan ? and had sons Thomas (-1580), John (-1595) and Edward (-1608). Both John and Edward had descendants. Thomas (-1580) had a son Lawrence (1575-). His son Lawrence (1599-) married (1) Margaret in 1620 at Fyfield and (2) Elizabeth Dawson in 1623. He had a son Edward (1624-) who married Annis Jones in 1645 in Stamford In The Vale, Berkshire. Their son Edward (1645-) had a son Thomas (1722-) who had sons named Richard (1749-), Joseph (1756-), and Robert (1772-). Descent through Joseph (1756-). The lineage continues into Australia in the 1880s.

#2 29413 Maximillian Sirmon
Tradition has it that they were Hugeunots and they emigrated from France in the mid 1800s. Maximillian Sirmon was the first generation born in Germany and he spoke fluent French. All of Maximillian's children emigrated. One to Holland. One to South Africa and two to America. Descent through Sigfried Sirmon who emigrated to South Africa.

#3 32423 Richard Surman
Richard may have been born in Eldersfield, Worcestershire circa 1520. The first S*rm*n to be mentioned in the Court Rolls for Tredington, Gloucestershire was Richard in 1543 when he took over property previously occupied by the BICK family. He died in 1563 and in his Will mentions his brother William, cousins in Eldersfield (children of Walter who died in 1546) and his children Thomas, Elizabeth and John. Thomas c.1543-1621 was a husbandman/Yeoman in Tredington and had 11 children:- Thomas 1564, Ann 1565-1621, Elizabeth 1568, Thomas 1574-1647, Agnes d: 1574, Richard 1578-1579, Margaret d: 1582, John d: 1612, Margaret 1582-1637, Prudence ?-1639 and Joan. In his Will he also mentions John, Isabel and Joan Surman, children of his brother John.

Samuel (born c. 1744) of Oxfordshire married Jane Grace and they had a son Samuel (1782-). Samuel then had a son Robert (1821-) who had a son William (1845-). Descent through William's son William Robert (1875-).

John (born c. 1695) of Oxfordshire married Mary Wyatt and they had a son John (1722) born at Aldgate, London. John then had a son Richard (1752-1759) who had a son Thomas (1786). Thomas had a son William (1826). Descent through William's son Michael (1868).
