This painting by Carol Jessen can be found at VOSHAN - Fine Arts Gallery - Carol Jessen. She has a number of rain-related paintings. (As of this writing, the site appears to be down.) After lunch at Ichiban's, I stopped off at Lowe's to buy a gallon of "Valspar - Interior Latex High Hiding Primer." And while I was in the paint department, I picked up a number of paint samples and several free guides about how to mix and match the colors in a room. Several times during the day, I worked with the heat gun on removing the stucco paint which I finally accomplished. Next I used the sander, I bought last week, to smooth out the surface. It was easy to use and did a great job. Next up, I taped the top of the baseboard to cut down on splashing it with paint. (A lost cause, because, the top may have been protected, but not the side.) Then I cover the wall with the primer I had left over from previous work on the walls. I was using a roller with an extension pole, which uses a large plastic screw at the end to connect to the roller handle. However, the screw became stripped, so the pole would not tighten into the handle. At the end, I dumped the paint flakes that had collected on the canvas drop cloth onto the floor. Tossed the drop clothes into the washer. Used a shop vac to clean off the floor. Then I put away the tools and cleaned the rollers and paint pan. By this point, I decided I should not attempt anything else. However, I can tell that the section of the wall from which the stucco was removed will need a second coat. I may even have to use some spackling in a few spots. . (In Tuesday - 2008-0212-1930 / Out - 2008-0212-2030) This entry was written in a single setting. Pax! Erin go braugh! Je accuse...
