Rain - 3rd Avenue

I'm trying to use some of the older rain images I've squirreled away. This one has no info listed in the properties summary. The title in the folder is "3rd_ave.jpg." The general info under properties says it was created Sunday, August 14, 2005, 22:07:18.

I ran the name through Google and got 9 hits, but none match the photo. So the origin shall remain a mystery.

Rain - Amsterdam Street

I keep two folders for rain images: Photos - Rain and Photos - Rain - Web. The images I use come mostly from Photos - Rain, but sometimes I'll find an image on the web and use it immediately. But all images once used are supposed to be moved to the Photos - Rain - Web folder. BUT in double checking the photos I used today, I noticed that I'd used the Rain - Amsterdam Street image twice. First on journal - 2007-1030 -tue - 2300 and then again a few days ago at journal - 2008-0206-wed - 2115. I think that's the only duplication. However, I never say anything with absolute certainty.

Morning

If I did anything interesting, I don't recall what it was.

Lowe's - Again

After lunch, I went to Lowe's, yet again. This time to ask the person at the paint desk about removing what I did Tuesday evening. The quick, snappy answer was that I would have to sand it off. Yuck!!!

So I roamed over to the power tools and found a random orbit sander with a multi-grip handle ("jug handle").

Borders

Next stop - Borders, which I've not visited in months. I wanted an interesting but inexpensive novel. I thought of the "Retrieval Artist" sci fi series by Kristine Kathryn Rusch. BUT I could not remember the series title, her name or the name of any of the books. So I carefully looked shelf-by-shelf at the sci fi section but never found her name. My guess is they don't have any.

I did spot a "Torchwood" book, not a novelization of one of the programs, but a new story. Since it was only $11, I thought it would be a good buy.

Some months ago, I talked with one of the clerks, and it was a fascinating conversation. He reads a lot of the post-modern authors. I suggested Haruki Murakami who he was not familiar with. The clerk was so interesting that I would love to have dinner with him. But I could not figure if he was family or not.

Home and a Very Long Nap

I'd started off with a headache before lunch, and it was slowly getting worse. So once home, I did a few chores, and climbed into bed and started the "Torchwood" book. Then there was a very long nap.

Webbing

When I woke up, I had some chicken and a piece of chocolate pie for din din.

I turned my attention to the web and wrote an entry covering Sunday the 3rd. And I also entered nine new Jason Behr photos in the pensive guys section.

Heath Ledger

I stayed on line and read "The New York Times" article on "Medical Examiner Rules Ledger’s Death Accidental". From what little I know, I immediately recognized the combination of meds as being very serious and very, very dangerous.

I'm not sure how you can be gay and not feel some type of kinship to the characters (and actors) in "Brokeback Mountain." We have so few portraits of complex gay characters, that even ones of flawed characters are a revelation.

For the first time I thought, "Ennis is dead!"

I feel such sadness for Heath for he was obviously a person in a great deal of emotional pain. And he didn't get the help he needed.

Even in this so called enlightened age, we still do not know what to do about a wound to the psyche.

May the spirit of Heath be at peace.
