Rain - Rain curtain

A new rain image that I just discovered at Photobucket - Mrs Khan. The site includes an amazing number of whimsical creatures and greetings that border on the kitsch. And this single glorious rain image.

Today - Hibernating on a rainy day, adding images and playing with software

Another day of semi-hibernation. Yesterday was bright and sunny. But as today trudged along, it it became windy and very rainy. When I went out around 6 to bring in the garbage containers, the end of the drive was lake-like. I had to jump and wade and stumble to keep from drowning. I had no idea the rain had been so heavy.

As yesterday, I added more images to the Pensive Guys section for Christian Bale. The number is up to 57, so I think I will move along to something else for awhile.

I also employed a number of utilities listed in "PC World." My system appears to be virus free and malware free. I also worked on the OS config file. And I downloaded the newest Foxfire (beta 3.0, I think) and quickly discovered that it would invalidate the add-ons I'd plugged into Firefox 2.0.0.11. (Hence, the reason for it being still beta.) "Add-ons are small pieces of software that can add new features or tiny tweaks to your Firefox. They can add new search engines or dictionaries in other languages, change the look of Firefox with a new theme, or much more." And there appear to be hundreds of options.

"Diva"

I saw the ending of one of my favorite movies, "Diva," earlier this evening. Wikipedia - Diva (film) says, "It is one of the first French films to let go of the realist, harsh mood of 1970s French cinema and return to a colourful, melodic style, called "Cinema du look". I'm not going to begin to try and describe the intricate plot.

The essence of the movie is the visual elements. Stylish, urban, panoramic, intimate, erotic, etc. The lead character, played by Frédéric Andréi, who with his slender frame, angular face, expressive eyes, and foppish hair, is the quintessential youth of French cinema. I wanted to scoop him up and take him home for chocolates and champaign and tender kisses.

It is always an unexpected pleasure to discover unawares a favorite film.
