A photo, for a change, that actually had some property info embedded with it. It is from the site everything street photography black and white photos, color pictures, photo blog, street photography books, message board, film and digital, tips. A wonderful free wheeling site whose name gives you some idea of what it covers. The web history log tells me I came off the web about 0130, and the security log says I logged off the computer shortly thereafter. Which I guess means I went to bed about then. Or I could have stayed up and read some. Neither would be surprising. I most likely got up early and dealt with the felines. And since the logs show I didn't return to the computer until after 1400, I must have gone back to bed. The later lunch time tells me I dealt with some household chores - more cat dealing, changing bed linens, putting laundry on, vacuuming bedroom and hall, etc. Grilled chicken seems to have disappeared off the menu permanently. Or else, it only shows up one day a week, and I miss that day.The meal did not make an impression, because I don't remember it. (In - Monday - 20070618 - 1150: $7.51 - Cash)
Last time, I'd started reading an article of entertainment in Australia. One of the articles was called "Sons of Wolfmother," about the attempts of Aussie rock bands to enter the US market. Actually what caught my attention was the photo of the band. See Wolfmother (Wikipedia). Also Wolfmother (official site). Very stylish site, superb use of horizontal scrolling. See Wolfmother | The Horizontal Way - an horizontal showcase for horizontal scrolling websites. By all means visit www.myspace.com/wolfmother, which offers up semi-randomly one of five tunes. You can also chose the one you wish to hear. Two quick comments. My initial interest was because of the photo in "Variety. I have this absolute fetish for curly-headed males, especially rock musicians. But once, I heard a couple of their tracks, I'm was really impressed. A little retro, but so what. One of the genres listed at the Wikipedia site is Neo-Psychedelia. I don't see where anyone can whine about the "sound" of any rock individual or group. The Beatles, 40 years ago, established that rock can accommodate any style of music. (One of my favorite example of cross-pollination is Green Day's use of Klezmer music in Hitchin' a Ride.) Gotta squeeze in one more reference. The article also mentions the success of Midnight Oil (official site) in the 80s. See also Midnight Oil (Wikipedia). One of the world's leading groups known for their fierce "political activism, particularly in aid of environmentalist and indigenous causes." In fact, after the band dissolved, lead singer Peter Garrett was elected in 2004, as a member of the Australian Labor Party to the House of Representatives for the seat of Kingsford Smith, New South Wales. "He was appointed as Shadow Minister for Climate Change, Environment & Heritage, Arts in December 2006."
I also grazed through a number of movie reviews including "Black White + Gray: A Portrait of Sam Wagstaff and Robert Mapplethorpe".
There's no denying that there was a period when Mapplethorpe was preternaturally beautiful.
See Part 2 (Out - Thursday - 20070621 - 0130) This entry was completed on the same day in multiple settings.
