contours provocations
journal - 2007-0422 - sun 1900 journal | archives | home | e-mail Sunday - 070415 - Visit to the clinic; Lunch; CVS; Home at last; State Taxes; Tobey and Clive Friday and Saturday of last week, I recovered from the gastrointestinal problem. But my throat became very sore and, the left ear canal was irritated. The last time I had this sensation in my throat, it turned out to be caused by a combination of acid reflux and severe tension. Sunday, the pain was no better, so I decidec to visit the clinic which opens at 1 on Sundays. I zip along the Interstate and get there at 12:45. Of course, others have thought of the same thing. So as the door opens, no one is exactly sure who was there when, I think I wound up 10th on the list. Large lady in bright blue top enters with mother. Large in the sense that she could just barely fit into the chair. I tensed waiting to hear the sound of splintering wood. After a few minutes, she whips out her cell phone to have a conversation. There are notices posted in the waiting room asking people not to use their cell phones. I look around for one, tap her on the shoulder and point at sign. She says "sorry" and steps outside. Nicely done, I thought: no confrontation, it's a rule of the clinic, not my personal preference. Doctor and I chat. I'd gone off my decongestant, Gentex, for fear that it was causing some gastro problems. He said to go back on it. He give me prescriptions for antibiotic, Avelox, nasal spray, Nasonex, and blood pressure, Lisinopril. The last few times I'd been in, I noticed that my blood pressure was up each time. This time it was 143. Not what I'd like it to be. But I'm also sure some of it was caused by not feeling well. He asked what was I last on for blood pressure, but I can't remember. But I remember that it had a diuretic in it. He blinks, and says he would never give me a diuretic because they contain sulfur to which I'm allergic. (I started to say, "Why the fuck did no one catch that before now!"). One of my many reasons for being slightly dubious of modern medicine. By the way, I know I'd been on the diurectic pill for at least a couple of years. Crap! Crap! Crap! Also told him that I'd started Over the Counter Prilosac the day before. I learned when I had my first problems that acid reflux can cause a host of troubles from acid, sore throat, teeth decay, etc. Box of Prilosac, cheapest per dosage purchase. was $25.20. (Bought from WalMart - Saturday 070414 - 1232: Total $64.94 - Bank Debit Card) (Time left clinic - Sunday 070415 - 1411: $52.80 - Bank Debit Card) Tota I stopped and had lunch at Macaroni's. Salmon and asparagus and sweet tea. Very nice to have a solid meal after five days of toast and tea. I ate about half of lunch and asked to have it boxed up for take away plus I added a Tiramisu. (Out - Sunday 070415 - 1456: $28.95 - Bank Debit Card) Last stop was CVS: antibiotic (Avelox) - $33.00; nasal spray (Nasonex) - $33.00; blood pressure (Lisinopril) - $13.00. All these were via doctor's prescriptions. The day before, I'd called in drugs for antianxiety/panic attacks (Alprazolam - generic xanax) - $10.99 and migraine/headaches attacks (Levacet) - $16.83. If you add all five of these, you get $106.82. Crap! Crap! Crap! (Out - Sunday 070415 - 1605: $106.82 - Bank Debit Card) At long last, I got to come home, after four hours or so and took a three-hour nap. Got up in time to see SciFi's new series - "Painless Jane." IMDB sez "Jane Vasko is a DEA agent recruited by a covert government agency that hunts genetically enhanced individuals. She discovers that she can heal rapidly from any injury and begins to investigate the source of her powers." I also finished off lunch for din din. Chilled Tiramisu is devine. One last point, I checked Friday or Saturday, and discovered I don't have to file a state tax return because I didn't pay any state taxes. I'm sure I was able to work in some tinkering with the pensive guys pages for Tobey and Clive. I said I was not going to change the format again, which, of course, I ignored. The larger image pages now reflect 30 imager per; so ther's a part 1, part 2, etc. Clive is much more difficult to work with than Tobey because there are so many photos that are very similar.
