Erin go Braugh

Moola; Lunch; CVS; Iodine; Clipping and cutting - Part ???

Moola

coins
Today, at last, I welcomed with rose petals and pansy blossoms, the official word on the life insurance policy. (Oppppssss! At this point, after midnight, it was actually yesterday.)

Now that I have confirmed papers in my greedy little paw, I feel it's real. I thought for awhile, I was going to get a grubby, stepped-on envelope containing a letter written in crayon saying: "Insurance - ah thatts a goode one. Hav to teel cousinn fred about thaat1"

In effect, a money market fund account has been created in my name at the insurance company. A good strategy for the company since it shows up as an asset. This as opposed to sending you a check for the full amount.

The account draws interest at the rate of a money market fund. If I remember correctly, it's around 5%, which is a close match to the rate for similar funds.

(Would you believe that once upon a time, I actually had a no-load money market fund that paid as much as 18% interest! Who knows what the fuck I did with the money. Or the account. I probably bought nonsensical crap with the money. I have absolutely no recollection, most likely because I've repressed everything.)

One last point, a good point, is that I thought the amount would be for one figure, but in actuality, it was about $1,300 more. A most pleasant surprise.

I almost forgot what my priorities are for the money.

One, I absolutely have got to get a new front door. The old one offers no security whatsoever. If an old lady hit it with her umbrella, it would collapse.

Two, I want a camera. A good phone camera, maybe.

Three, I've been perusing the following site: MaleEscortReview.com - The MALE 4 MALE Escort Review Site. These guys are pros, and they charge accordingly. But they appear to be very good at the services offered. And I don't mean just sex. Almost every review mentions that the guys are great conversationalist, knowledgable, wonderful dinner partners, and they are excellent at communicating with the client by mail, e-mail or phone. All very sensible; the kind of things you'd expect from a good friend. So even if you have no interest in the services, the sites makes for fascinating reading. (Nope, they're out of my price range!) My range is a stand up in a dark alley with a whino.

Lunch

I've not had lunch out since Tuesday, so I was feeling a need to get out. I grabbed the December 25 / January 1 issue of "The New Yorker" and headed for buffet central. There are any number of ways you can get there, but I use a path that winds through a couple of residential neighborhoods. And you suddenly pop out on a road that with a couple of turns takes you to the restaurant's front door.

One little tidbit is that the trip takes me by the house of the guy I was so in love with in high school - Dan. One of the great totally unaware and unreciprocated loves of my life.

CVS

After lunch, I had to make a quick stop by CVS to pick up my decongestant. The nice guy I spoke of last time, actually stopped what he was doing and got my order. He even remembered my name. I wanted to jump the counter and kiss him.

Iodine

I know you're going, "Iodine!?"

Most places have switched to Mercuroclear which is Mercurochrome without the mercury or coloring. And no longer carry iodine. The catch with Mercuroclear is that because it's clear, you can't tell if or where you've applied it. Which may be deliberate on the part of the company, so you'll use two or three times the regular dosage.

Plus I can't tell that it has any effect.

With Iodine, I can tell what I'm doing. WalMart nor CVS carry it, so I crossed the highway to Kroger, which I've never been in before. I was amazed at how large it was. But large or small, I was able to buy two bottles of Iodine.

Clipping and cutting - Part ???

As usual, I did the usual activities in this area. But it was windy and slightly chilly, so I didn't do as much as I normally would. Twig by twig, leaf by leaf, stem by stem, branch by branch is my clarion call.

PAX! Erin Go Braugh!
