I glanced at the photo several times and thought: Well, if it's a fake, it's the best one I've ever seen. So I more or less dismissed the claim. Then somewhere or other, I thought I'd bookmarked the location, but I obviously did not, someone had posted the actual model used for the fake. I was flabbergasted. It appears that the designer used the upper part of Daniel's body, but the lower portion of the model's body. First off, not the incredible similarity in the genitalia. (Some wag on one of the boards said, "I knew I'd seen that penis before!") The position of the bent left leg is identical. The proportions of both the right and left legs are exactly alike. The designer has cleverly used a black background on Daniel's photo to create a fade to limbo for the area slightly below the knees. The key question is where is the blend in lower abdomen area. The original photos of Daniel were monochrome, plus Daniel's somewhat unusual hirsute pattern made it much easier to cover the blend so that it appears as part of Daniel's body.hair. I would be very curious to know who found the original image, and even more curious to know who the designer was.

Saturday I'd bought a set of vinyl venetian blinds that I thought would fit inside the south bedroom window. No problem there, a perfect fit. This box actually came with instructions. The "installation instructions" were printed in very small letters on very thin paper. The paper is so thin that it is almost impossible to read the English instructions because the Spanish ones "bleed" through the paper. Every part is shown, so now I know what some of those strange pieces were from the last time. And every conceivable bracket position is cover: screw to the inside left and right jams; screw to the top at the left and right; screw to outside jam at the left and right; screw to the ceiling at the left and right. What I'd not anticipated was that the jams are narrower on the window than the one in the bath. I finally had to resort to place outside screws in at almost a 45 degree angle. Looks great though. I was fearful, it might not block the light to the degree I wanted, but it's almost perfect in this regard. The blinds do need cleaning though. I continue to manage to spend a fun-filled hour each day clipping, cutting, sawing, and snipping away at the undergrowth. This is one of the worst areas I've encountered. The hedge plants have sprouted up at much as 20 feet from the property line. And they are the size of small trees. And they're filled with rotten branches that have fallen from the pines nearby. At the end of the day, I dragged five trash containers to the front for the removal guys tomorrow.
I suppose that it's worth mentioning that I'm as Irish-American as you can get. My last name would be the equivalent of Smith or Jones in Dublin. In fact, it even appears in a couple of T.S. Eliot's poems. PAX! Erin Go Braugh!
