"Equus"

Frontal Partially Nude Daniel Radcliffe - small image

Is it possible that there is someone in the western world who does not know that Daniel Radcliffe of "Harry Potter" fame is playing Alan Strang, the disturbed stable lad who blinds horses, in the first London revival of Peter Schaffer's "Equus."

"The Telegraph.co.uk" in a 05/11/06 article Harry Potter and the full frontal dilemma states:

["Equus, which had its premiere at the National Theatre in 1973, is one of the most controversial and acclaimed works in the English language. It charts the relationship between Martin Dysart, a psychiatrist, who will be played by Radcliffe's Harry Potter co-star Richard Griffiths, and Alan Strang, a disturbed teenager who is referred to him after blinding a horse with a metal spike.

Over the course of the drama the psychiatrist carries out interviews with the patient and his family to try to find a motive for the crime.

At the heart of the story is Strang's obsessive and very physical relationship with a horse called Nugget. In one scene, a naked Strang kneels before the horse as an act of worship. In another, he is clearly sexually aroused by the act of riding the animal."]

The publicity for the show included a number of revealing photos of Alan (Daniel Radcliffe), and they are most likely posted on thousands of places on the web. I'd also read of considerable controversy by some parents of his nude appearance on the stage and his performance in the Harry Potter movies. I guess if you show your kids photos of Daniel nude on stage it might affect the way the child views the movies. Or are these parents proponents of philosophy that any and all public nudity is evil?

I must admit that the photos caught my attention. One because, his body has a far more mature appearance than I would have thought. In fact, I immediately thought of a younger version of CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY dot org. And two, contrary to what so many performers have done by shaving their upper torso, he is unshaven. And his body hair is more abundant than I envisioned.

I could not help but notice that all the unclothed photos were from the waist up. Which I assumed was the way they were shot. But last night I stumbled on to the FULL frontal image of the one on this page.

Now here's a legal conondrum, the site is French, clearly intended for a very mature audience only, not for anyone under 18 or the faint of heart. Second, the photo is buried about a third of the way down the page. There are so many graphics and references to YouTube that Firefox literally chokes on it. The photo of Daniel is from another source, that is one of the sites of blogger.com and could be located anywhere.

In the U.S. the ago of consent for looking at or appearing in nude photos is 18. In the U.K., Daniel's home, the age of consent for the above stipulations is 16. Daniel is 17. So where does that leave us. Here's what I've decided to do, if you follow this link White Horse, you will find an attractive photo of a white horse. There also happens to be, purely by accident, a young man, by the laws of the U.K., in the photo. Now what you must do is to look only at the horse, since it is most likely that to look at the young man, by the laws of the U.K., is verboten in certain areas. As an intelligent web viewer, I'm sure you will have no problems with these simple instructions. Remember, look only at the horse. Another option is to come back on July 23, 2007, on which date, the young man, by the laws of the U.K., will be 18.

Now if this sounds too confusing, I'll offer a quick verbal synopsis. I can safely say that the male genitalia is in place, and one assumes good working order. I absolutely refuse to be dragged into questions of relative or absolute amplitude. Suffice it to say that appropriate stimulation, like a spring shower can work wonders for even the most recalcitrant plant. Of course, I'm refering to the horse. As for the young man, by the laws of the U.K., I have no idea, because I was told to look only at the horse.

PAX! Erin Go Braugh!
