Tweaking rain speak, lyrics and quotes

For the longest, ever time I look at the rain speak, lyrics or quotes pages, I've felt something was missing. I re-arranged the format. I put the pertinent quotes in bold. But it all seemed to merge together.

It finally hit me that I should do each one as a large table, and add contrasting background colors to each row. I'm not an advocate of using the panoply of color possibilities. Because you never know exactly what you're going to get. Deciding what colors to use can get very complicated very quickly. See Wikipedia - web colors. In fact, it can be maddening. So I've decided to aim at X11 and web-safe colors, neither one of which are perfect.

I remember doing one of my first web pages at work that I thought looked fairly spiffy, UNTIL I saw it on a Mac. It was terrible.

What I finally decided on is not perfect, but it does the best job so far of highlighting each row and cell. And yes I know my whole system for creating web pages is antiquated. But until I can afford a copy of DreamWeaver, it will have to do.

Updating pensive guys

I've re-worked the pages for Bael, Christian; Behr, Jason; Brody, Adrien; Dean, James; Farrell, Colin and Gruffudd, Ioan. Now there is a thumbnail page for each with direct links to a an individual page with a larger image. These images, in turn, can be viewed as a self-activating slide show.

I've also added many more images in each case. I think I originally had six for Colin, but there are now 30. Ioan leads with 33 images. This is a man who can not take a bad photo. And talked about chisled features. What a beautiful, beautiful man.

Incense and more

As I've wondered out, I'm making sure to glance in each store for incense. I've hit Target, Dollar General, WalMart and Hobby Lobby. So far the one I like the best is myrrh. By examining the different options, I can then decide if it would be better to order on-line.

Miniature boxes

Yesterday, when I was in Dollar General, I noticed some miniature wooden boxes. Most were 2-inches by 2-inches on aside and 1.5-inches high. And a few were 3-inches long, 2-inches wide, and 1.75-inches high. And each has some type of inlay pattern on the top.

I thought they were so unusual and at only $1 apiece, I wouldn't be out too much, so I bought five. They're sitting on my sofa table looking terribly attractive.

Mysterious creature

Last week, one evening at twilight, when it was drizzling, I glanced out the kitchen window and saw a dark shape near the northern edge of the property at the extreme back. (Remember, the property runs back at least 200 feet. My first thought was a dog, but I wrapped on the glass, and loudly opened and shut the window, but it did not appear to move. My next thought was debris from one of the trees, But next morning, I noticed it was gone. Later in the day, I wandered in that direction but didn't see anything out of the ordinary. However, I did not think to check for paw prints. And it has rained a couple of times since then, so it would be pointless ti check again. Dog? Fox? Bore? Wild pig?
