The Early Morning Sunlight

The Early Morning Sunlight

Sun Clipart
I'd intended to scribble some more last night, but I gave up on the one listing.

I'm up at the ungodly hour of 7:30 because the felines were being a royal pain in the ass. They seem to be doing a lot of that lately.

This does give me one of those rare chances to catch the morning light on the north wall of my living room. The sun appears to be in a an almost southeasterly direction. But it only strikes about a couple of vertical feet of the wall for about ten minutes, then it's gone. But it does manage to hit a row of wooden cats and some pottery and an African mask, whose tribe I've been unable to figure out.

If you've been keeping track, as I know you have, about a month ago, I'd bought some translucent gem stones slightly smaller than a marble. (Gem stones is what the packages say, but I can't find anything similar on the web under that name.)

Then I went through the overly-complicated process of trying to find a container: ceramic bowls, no; a large clear plastic bowl, no; wicker baskets, no. I finally settled on a black wire mesh basket - I liked the minimalism. Alas, Tiger, Tiger thought it was very much akin to kitty litter, so he kept urinating into it.

My next move was to try three glass vases of varying sizes, which works far better than I would have thought. And in the morning light, the stones become flame-like in their iridescent. Actually, I noticed this morning that the sun catches them twice: around 7:40, then about 8:30.
