Insomnia; Rain and Thunder

Insomnia

Last night or early this morning, I could not go to sleep. In fact it was after 6 before I nodded off. And then only with the help of a Xanax.

I think I've figured out a couple of causes for this problem. One is connected with whenever I take a vitamin in the morning. And two is connected with whenever I take an over the counter decongestant/antihistamine. I've tried both long enough, on and off, to realize there is some type of connection with insomnia.

Rain and Thunder

As I was meandering the yard this afternoon, cutting and pruning and digging, I noticed the shy was become darker and darker. And then I heard the crackle of thunder.

I'd reached the point at which I was going to use the reciprocating saw to cut out a pine root that I keep tripping over, when lightning split the sky. A quick thought hit me that using power tools as lightning flashes nearby might not be a good idea. By the time I'd gotten the saw inside, the deluge had started.

Although such pyrotechnics are impressive, I'm not sure what good they do the soil. I always think of slow drizzles as being far more beneficial. (Pause) Well now, I thought I heard something, and I as looked out, I discovered it is indeed drizzling.

A Sherlock Holmes drizzle as Holmes and Watson scud through the gaslit glitter of the cobblestone streets of Charing Cross in pursuit of a tall man in a dark coat.

PAX!
