"Overtired"; Cable

It's one of those evenings when I feel overtired but not sleepy.

I keep remembering the word "overtired" and that it's from a Robert Frost poem, and that the poem has something to do with apple picking, but I can never remember the name of the poem. Well, it's "After Apple Picking." (1914) Duhhhhhh!

"For I have had too much Of apple-picking; I am overtired Of the great harvest I myself desired."
Not to wander too far astray. But there is something about Frost's poems that always seem sinister. The few lines I know leave me with a visceral sensation akin to mal de mer.
One of the curiosities of having "basic" basic cable is that you have to pay closer attention to what's on. With the digital tier, you push a button on the remote, and you get info about that channel. With basic service, you don't have that option. So you have to guess at the channel and the program.

However, since there are not 500 choices, you're forced to be far more selective. And you may spend more time on a channel. This evening I watched the end of a Bette Davis flic, "Deception" that I'd never heard of. If I'd had mucho options, I'm sure I'd have zipped by it.

Bette was always one of my favorite performers. At least, up to "Baby Jane."
