Acid Reflux!?! Feline Urchin

Last night I mentioned having set up an appointment with the doctor today to talk about my depression meds. This morning I woke up with a sore throat and what felt like fever. Which was very irritating considering that I'd just finished another round of expensive antibiotics.

I stayed home this morning and more or less wished someone would just shoot me.

At the clinic, as I stumbled through my explanation of maladies, the doctor suddenly asked if I'd had any stomach problems of late. And it struck me that I had indeed noticed problems for several months, but since I was so preoccupied with mother and everything else, I'd not paid that much attention. I also thought about the fact that frequently I'd eat about a third of a meal and then not be able to tolerate any more.

He said that both the stomach and sore throat problems could have a common source: acid reflux. Yikes! Certainly something that I'd not though of. Yikes and double yikes!

Then we talked about my depression meds. I'd been taking Wellbutrin and Lexapro. Both from sampled he provided. But when the Wellbutrin samples ran out, I thought I could live off Lexapro alone. I now realize that was a terrible mistake, especially with all that has happened in the last few months.

For several years, I've thought about how the sinus problems triggered depression which deflated my immune system hence causing more sinus problems. A very vicious cycle.

I left the clinic with a large bag of Lexapro and Zegerid samples. (Plus prescriptions for Wellburtin 300 XL for depression adn Atavin for panic attacks.) I'd never heard of the Zegerid, but it is a new drug for acid reflux suppression. Each box contains six or seven pouches that you mix with two tablespoons of water and immediately drink.

I managed to take my first dose around 6. And within a couple of hours, I noticed my tummy and throat felt better. Could this indeed be the remedy to some of my problems? If so, then praise to what deities there be.

"Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright" has awakened from his nap. Which means he wants to play. One of the primary fun things he likes to do is to nip at my hand as I type. That plus some judicious slaps at the screen. Stop that yo witle feline urchin! Ouch! Brat! Go take another nap. Stop! Don't doseros that! That hurt!

PAX!
