Wired; Spidey; Over the Seas; Kitty and the Wee Beastie

For the last three nights, I've been unusually wired around this time. As though my brain is spinning, generating endless mental energy.

Over the weekend, I bought the "Spiderman 2" DVD. A truly wonderful film at a number of levels.

I'd forgotten about some of the inside humor. The scene with Toby and Hal Sparks of QAF in the elevator is hysterical. It struck me as I watched it again how impeccable the verbal timing is. It actually makes use of the pauses between the phrases. And of course, there's the added kick of knowing the character Hal Sparks plays.

Now of course, I certainly not ignoring the Spidey suit. I've read that it was made from a full body cast of Toby. But it would have to be. I did wonder how much was suit and how much was Toby.

I watched the extra feature about the creation of the suit. Seemingly, it took months to get it just right. But there was nothing about the body cast.

Saturday, I received my second purchase notice from Japan for one of the CDs I've listed at Amazon. Different people though. The first was in Osaka; the second, Fujisawa. That brings to four the number of overseas orders. The others were from the UK and a soldier in Iraq.

There is definitely a market for out-of-print CDs. But which ones are the mystery. Alternative? New age? Pop?

One of my cats has been in a royal snit for the last hour trying to find a lizard that has meandered into the house. I first noticed the wee beastie Sunday when I moved the sound/video cabinet. It immediately darted off, and I could not find it again.

That evening, the kitty spotted it in the bedroom, but the lizard vanished again. Kitty was furious. She pawed at the curtains. Searched the floor. Jumped on the desk and sniffed at everything. This went on for at least 30 minutes with lots of very loud meowing as though I'd let it escape.

Last night, she was on the bed but suddenly she saw the lizard on the curtains. I tried to grab the lizard, but again it was too slick. Kitty again was outraged. Maria Callas would have been impressed with kitty's vocal pyrotechnics. Kitty was pissed, and she wanted the world to know.

These bursts of obvious irritation are unlike any behaviour I've observed before. Which tells me as I've know all along that my feline companions are still full of surprises.

By the way, I have no idea what happened to the beastie.

PAX!
