contours provocations
journal - 2004-0527 - 2030 Patterns; Hot/Frigid; Book Selling; TinTin Life flows on within and without you. I've been working with "CreamHeaver" making pattern files. I've learned far more than I wanted to know. It's been one of those situations in which I've been overlooking things I should know. So I'm going in circles. And a couple of times I've felt downright ill because of it. When you want to fly from the building screaming and yelling. It is hot! Only in the early morning is it plesant. But by 8, the temp millimeters up. And of course my office was frigid today. This was the first day in several weeks that I did not have a book to ship off to a buyer. I'm trying to figure out how to do some promoting. I always respond to the buyer indicating when and how the book(s) was/were shipped. A notice in the e-mail about related books might be an idea. Amazon has a "people who bought this book also bought these books." I wonder at what point this connection is triggered. Four hundred people buy the newest Anne Rice book, and of those, eleven buy a book by Dame Edna. Does that warrant a listing? Last night I was reading a TinTin book. I love the renderings of cars, trains and especially rain. What is TinTin's background? There is not a hint in any of the books. Someone did write a book called "TinTin in the New World." If I remember correctly, he considers a romantic relationship with a woman. TinTin's only continuing allegiance is with Snowy and the captain. Other recurring characters come and go, but you always get the sense he views them as intruders. PAX! journal | archives | home | e-mail |
