contours provocations
journal - 2004-0211 - 1930 Wet; Amazon; Jake A cold, wet evening it is. Last week at this time, I was sick. But this week I feel better. Tired but better. I sold another book on Amazon. When I bought it, I thought it would be a good read. And there was certainly not anything wrong with it; it just did not hold my interest. And I had no desire to re-read it. So it's nice to find a new home for it. And I hope the new reader finds it worthwhile. In the fall, at this hour, I would be watching "Jake 2.0." Alas, UPN in its infinite wisdom cancelled it. A pox on network vice-presidents. I liked Jake. It was funny, quirky and very clever. And I love Chris Gorham. I liked him in "Popular." And in "Odyssey 5." And in "Jake." So let's hope he finds a new venture. PAX! journal | archives | home | e-mail |
A review of Bette Midler's new revue "Kiss My Brass." " 'I've seen the young people,' she said, casting a side-long glance at the audience. 'I've seen Christina Aguilera,' she sniffed. 'She was wearing panties and garters! All these new new girls are so trasy!' Beat. 'And do I get a thank-you note? I opened the door to trash! I was trashy before any of these girls were born!' "
