Straight/Gay; Productive; Work; Gifts

Bravo is airing a "Boy Meets Boy" marathon. When it first aired, deciding who was gay, and who was not, was guesswork. But now that I know who is who, viewing takes on a different perspective.

During the first broadcast, Bravo ran an on-line poll that allowed you to guess the sexual identity of each guy. Bravo then listed the total percentages for each person. Once someone was eliminated, the reported identity was revealed.

Surprisingly, some who were thought to be gay, were straight. And vice versa. I guess this implodes the idea of gaydar. Or does it? Gaydar means you think someone is gay. But what if the person is pretending to be gay? But then what does one do to be perceived as being gay? Hmmm! Is it easier for a gay guy to appear to be straight than it is for a straight guy to appear to be gay?

Several of the guys have spiky hair that peaks in the middle. I kept wondering why that seemed familiar. Then it struck me - Tin Tin. Appropriately enough, Tin Tin never appeared to be interested in women either.

Friday and Saturday, I actually was productive. I'd been dreading trying to deal with the electrical wiring again. But in turned out to be a simple process to solve the problem. So after a month, I now have electricity on the north wall.

Which also means the motion detection lights on the front are operational again. I was sure that I'd short-circuited them, so it was great to find they still worked. I'd even stopped off at Home Depot and bought a new set, which I can now return.

Also, I was able to start work on re-ordering the bookcases, which are in a terrible state. Books are piled on the floor, on top of the cases, on furniture, and I can't find anything.

In a moment of sheer insanity, I decided to replace the cat litter boxes. The old ones were enclosed, so I opted to try some that were not. After a couple of hours, it dawned on me why the old ones were enclosed. The kitties get a hugh charge out of seeing how far they can kick the litter. Now, there are two enclosed, and two that are not. And the two that are not may be replaced by two that are.

This morning, it started raining soon after I got up. And the sprinkle quickly became a deluge. I almost drowned getting from the door to the car. It continued for most of the morning, but in the afternoon it tapered off. So the rainy day turned into a dreary, dismal one.

This was my first day at work in a week. But since part of last week was a holiday, e-mail and phone messages were minimal.

Someone resigned today that I'm sad to see go. But the person was having some conflicts with upper management and felt there was no other recourse. I'm totally convinced upper management is going to implode. Alas, that some can not see the folly of their actions.

By a fluke, I'd requested a lateral transfer over a year ago. For reasons totally unrelated to the current situation. I can now see that given the current situation, the move removes me from several contentious arenas.

A friend and I exchanged gifts Saturday evening. He gave me a splendid set of wind chimes. But instead of being free-hanging, the chimes are enclosed in a wooden cyclinder. This evening I hung it in my kitchen. The cats have noticed the new sound and have been very curious. One was sitting on the floor looking at it, and I explained how it worked. He would look at me, then the chimes, then back at me. He was definitely making some kind of connection between what I was doing and the sound.

My big gift to my friend was a DVD of Matthew Bourne's production of "Swan Lake" with Adam Cooper. We had talked about it several times. What he didn't tell me was that he had already bought a copy!

PAX!
