Schadenfreude?

I've made some passing comments to the changes at work without going into details. It's one of those cases in which new management thinks they have the answers for everything. And brings in a batch of new kids while ignoring the current staff.

Not only that but the new kids get pricy salaries while some of the current staff don't even get a raise.

One of the biggest changes was the initiation of a new moniker. A change that most staff felt was pointless and confusing. Today, I was told by a reliable source that the change may have been illegal. And that investigators have appeared demanding all documents and financial records related to the change. My knowledge is limited, but I do know that six-figure sums were spent for some outside work.

After you've worked at a place for several years, and you get a good feel for how things really work, you can usually sense disaster as it claws at the front door. I knew more than a year ago that upper management was headed for a fall. But what do you do? You know that no one internally will listen to you. Now it is obvious, that some have taken their complaints to an external source.

I don't wish evil on another. I don't have to. All I have to do is to sit back and wait for the implosion. And that is a sad state of affairs.
