Not Sleeping; Headache; Cameras; Ed Norton

The old year has ended.
The new year has started.

May the new bring you wisdom, prosperity and fond memories.

Last night was another one of those when I couldn't sleep. Back to the living room I went and watched "Oceans' Eleven." No surprises. Suave and breezy.

The night was filled with pops and pows and fizzles and screeches. The nuisance of fireworks. "Hey kid, why do you put that firework up your ass, then light it!"

This morning, I woke with a headache that would kill a mongoose. (An old Bengali saying that I just invented.) So I thought it might be a great idea if I went back to bed. Which I did. After doing this a number of times, I finally felt better.

When I got up, I scurried around the house doing a few necessary chores. Then into the outside world I went.

It was cold, damp, overcast and most unpleasant. Definitely a yucky day. First stop was Wendy's for a chicken sandwich.

Stop #2 was Best Buy to look at video still cameras. Momsy said if I found one I like, she'll buy it. As with all such electronic gadgets, confusion abounds. I made some notes for some of the lower priced models. Intending to check then against a recent aricles in "PC Magazine."

Then I stopped at "Books-A-Million" for wrapping paper for the two David Sedaris' books I bought for a friend' birthday. The birthday paper did not do a lot for me, so I opted for some "wedding" paper that has a dark purple background with large silver stars. Just gaudy enough to be campy.

The rest of the afternoon has been uneventful. At the moment I'm watching DeNiro and Ed Norton in "The Score." Norton is one of my favorites. He's semi-pumped up in this one and really looks hot. He needs to do a movie in which he plays on the water polo team.

PAX!
