Something and More Something But Not a Lot Of Either

When I got home Friday, after working late, there was a message from a friend asking if I was interested in eating out. I called his mobile, but he was miles away by then. So we moved din din to Saturday evening.

As for the rest of Friday evening, I remember being overly tired. And went so far as to go to bed early -- but could not sleep. And soon I was back in the living room watching tv.

Many are the channels available on cable. But figuring out what's on is not easy. There are several slots I've learned to check first - SciFi, AMC, Bravo, Sundance I, Sundance II, Independent Film Channel and Turner Classic Movies. Some of these are better than others.

Around 11 or so, I found myself watching the puzzling and facinating "The Pillow Book." Someone at IMDB said it was not so much a movie as an art film. And I think that is an excellent view. It's certainly not like anything else I've seen.

Saturday, I was actually up and about before 10 am. Yikes!!! I had lunch at the Japanese restaurant. And told the server that I felt like I'd known him in one way or another for years. Another case in which I remember someone, but they don't remember me.

Far too much of the afternoon was taken up with laundry. I put too much detergent in one load, for when it finished, every item was streaked with white powder. Rather than re-wash, I carted them over to the sink and tried to correct the damage.

My dinner friend showed up around 7 pm, and off we sped. We ended up at another Japanese place. A medium meal but great conversation. He fusses at me for not dressing up for din din. Cowboy boots and clean jeans are about as fussy as I can get. He, of course, looked very spiffy.

(Actually I've been dabbling at this entry for several days. Finished on Saturday, 06/08.)

PAX!
