contours provocations
journal - 2001-0325 - sun 1900 Sprung Spring; The Truth May Be Out There; Pigeons and Ghost Dog Spring may indeed be here, but it does not feel very springy. Fact be known, 'tis downright chilly. I've even resorted to turning on and up the heat. Friday, I knew within about ten minutes of waking up that I had a sinus infection. For a change, I bustled off to the clinic mid-morning, instead of waiting until nearer 11 am. This is a good time to attend since the first wave has cleared out. After fifteen minutes, I was talking with the doctor who gave a prescription for antibiotics and decongestants. Around the corner to the pharmacy I went. All in all, from point to point, my trip took roughly ninety minutes. As usual, my biggest complaint is the neuralgia and fatigue. So I spent Saturday and today doing little. However, this evening I feel slightly less yuccky. Friday evening, I had dinner with a friend - Chinese, the dinner, not the friend. The big top of discussion was the Fox special earlier in the week that questioned the NASA moon landings. The most intriguing questions centered on the lighting visible in the photos taken by the astronauts. If the sun was to the back of the lander, then how could the front be lit? Hmmmm. Of course this was not the only inconsistency. There were questions about the ability of astronauts to cross through the Van Allen radiation belt. The lack of a crater where the lander had set down. The similarity in photos that were supposed to be in different locations. As with all such puzzles, it is difficult to ferret out the truth from the quasi-truth. On one hand, you may not want to go so far as to believe the landings were fake. But on the other hand, just because the government says it's so doesn't mean it is. There have been too many cases of obfuscation that have turned out to hide the truth. From A-bomb testing to LSD experiments to medical trials to secret military operations, the official statements have proved less than reliable. I stumbled on the movie "Ghost Dog" about thirty minutes ago, and there are pigeons in it. Odd how pigeons keep creeping into my existence. A curious movie. A contemporary African-American man lives his life according to the code of the Samurai. Forest Whitaker is a splendid performer. No pretty-boy looks, just formidable talent. PAX!
