contours provocations
journal - 2001-0116 - tue 2100 Return to Work Back to work after a week of the flu. Not my favorite experience. First off, I couldn't go to sleep until after 1:00. The rain woke me at 3:00. And then the cats wanted an early breakfast at 5:00. When I left at 7:30, the rain had increased significantly. As usual, when it rains in the morning, all too many drivers forget everything they know. Soccer moms in SUVs are some of the worst. It took me all of 45 minutes to realize I had the energy of a cardboard mouse. I limped through the morning, punching the little keys on my keyboard. And from time to time, I'd stop and watch the rain slosh and splash against the window. If I'd had my Teddy, I would have curled up under the desk and snoozed. I decided that maybe a decent lunch would provide some desperately needed energy. And I thought I'd give the micro-brewery place another chance. It was a much improved experience over the last time. A wonderful portion of salmon with baked potatoe and steamed broccoli. I treated myself to their key lime pie which is superb. The afternoon crept along and at 5 I floated back home. Grae was at the backdoor wanting his evening meal. So as quick as I could, I scooped something into each bowl and was greeted with the customary feline sneer. Within five minutes, I nosedived under the blanket and dozed off. mindandspirit.com must be spending a fortune on tv commercials for phone tarot readings. Shouldn't they already know if you're going to call? PAX!
