The Pesky Prostate; Alien Alien; How To Be "Popular"

The Pesky Prostate

Time warp time again! Two weeks ago I began to feel lousy. And by Friday the 5th, I realized something was very wrong - fever, nausea, muscle aches, extreme depression. At first I was at a loss as to what was happening. Then I begin to notice a need for frequent urination which meant it had to be a kidney or prostate infection. I forced myself to go to the doctor. No one in the waiting room, so I was in very quickly. A urine sample. Then the doctor showed up and said my white bloodcell count was astronomical. To the pharmacy for pills. Lunch. But the whole time, I wanted to fall onto the pavement and not get up.

I finished the antibiotics Saturday, but I still feel slightly weird. The big things are fatigue, irritability and depression. Oh joy! Crap! Crap! Carp!

Alien Alien

WB has kindly moved "Roswell" to Monday. Lots of wonderful shots in the rain. I've read that there is a possiblity of it being cancelled. Gads! No! The new girl at school has just exhibited some type of supernatural powers. Is she also an alien? Or is she an alien alien? Tune in next week for more details.

How To Be "Popular"

And speaking of WB, "The Advocate" had an article on "Popular" and its openly gay creator, Ryan Murphy. Ryan says, "Every character thinks of themselves as a minority." It certainly has to be one of the most original series ever to have run on tv. Where else could you find a white middle-aged female high school principal who is blind due to diabetes who is married to a black guy named Oslo? Or Delta Burke as an oil baroness named "Cherry Cherry"? Or a situation in which the blond jock breaks up with the homecoming queen to date a full-figured gal? Or a character who discovers his mother is a lesbian? Or a performer who plays three roles - a very manish female biology teacher, her butch Marine brother and the very feminine school nurse? This week's preview indicates that the male shop teacher is having a sex-change operation.
