As I got into my car this evening at work, I noticed a bumper sticker on the car in the next parking place. "University of California, Santa Cruz, Banana Slugs"

A brochure from Fred Pryor Seminars arrived in my mailbox today. "Coaching Skills for Managers and Supervisors - Inspire, Motivate and Create Winners"

Yeah! Right!

I've noticed that within the past week, every other journal writer seems to be in the throes of personal crises. A breakup with a boyfriend. A girlfriend who has left after ten years. A physical attack. A date who doesn't show up. I was wondering if there is some kind of post-winter-solstice syndrome. Something to do with the culmination of seasonal anticipation. How strange the ways of the world.
