Of the dozen or so journals I read, almost without exception, the writer has been ill within the last week. The symptoms are similiar - congestion, possible temp, depression, sore throat, aches and pains, etc. After buzzing through the house after work, I ventured out to Jitney Premier for food and supplies. (Usually the ratio is weighted far more to supplies than to food since I cook very little.) As I maneuvered the aisles, I kept noticing shelves devoid of merchandise. I didn't think too much about this until I hit the check out line, then I remembered that the grocery chain filed for Chapter 11 last week! They literally do not have the money to pay for the merchandise. Or vendors are hestiant to sell or ship, since they may not receive payment. Once home, I glanced at the newspaper and pounced on an article that said that the Dial Corp. had filed a $240,000 lawsuit against the grocery chain because of non-payment for shipped goods. Enough! Enough! I started this chapter with high hopes of presenting startling and revealing comments on the human condition. But it is not to be. PAX!
