contours provocations
journal - 1999-1013 -wed 2100 journal | archives | home | e-mail Sneezing, coughing and honking; "Percentage of net users who leave a site if a page takes longer that eight seconds to load: 33" Monday was another insomniac night. Finally, around 2, I wolfed down a couple of PM pain killers, and drifted down stream. Only to be awakened several hours later by a furry paw on my nose. Padded into the kitchen, popped the tabs on some cat food tins, scooped a little into each bowl, and straggled back to bed. So instead of being bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at work yesterday, I spent most of the day sneezing, coughing and honking. After work, I dawled to the grocery store for paper towels, the ubiquitous cat food, and an OTC "relieve-all-your-symptoms-at-one-time" liquid, night-time medicine. And miracle of miracles, I actually slept fairly well last night. Today's work was plod, plod, plod. Do a little, check, backtrack, move forward, repeat, etc. However, I think I finished the schedule for the rest of October. Picked up a new net mag the other day - shift. Interesting statistic - "Percentage of net users who leave a site if a page takes longer that eight seconds to load: 33." PAX!
