It is rare that I wander out during the week. Usually, I'm too frazzled to do anything but re-charge. A good meal - chicken rolled around green onions and cheese, or at least that's what I think I had. I can never remember the dish's name. It is only on the nighttime menu, so I have it very infrequently, hence my inability to remember what it's called. Morning was spent trying to concoct a web page indicating the receipt of several awards won by fellow employees in a recent competition. For some reason, nothing seemed to work. I usually don't get too fancy with such announcements and follow a set format. However, I didn't like any of the color combinations; then I didn't like the animated graphic I created; then the format was all wrong. So a project that should have taken 30 minutes, took five hours. I try to create pages that are usable by as wide an audience as possible. Much easier said than done. It is amazing how inconsistent and variable HTML can be. Different browsers interpret the same HTML code in different ways. But what is more irritating, are the variances between versions of the same software. And what is this business with the constant upgrades! I noticed when I signed on that a new edition of Netscape is available. It will only take an hour to download! A few days ago, I upgraded my Media Player. And I've gotten a notice saying I should upgrade my WinZip. And did I mention the new version of Adobe? To say nothing of PSP. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! OK! There's my customary tirade against the "mavens" of the software industry. PAX!
