Pet Sitting; Petsmart; dinner, AOL

Now what did I do this weekend worth discussing? Hmmmmm!

Was asked to pet sit Saturday evening, which in this case consisted of letting the lab in. Letting the lab out the next day is always the hard part. I actually drove my car BEFORE 7 am on a Sunday morning! The pup was glad to see me, although slightly hesitant. I could see her thinking, "Yes! I know who you are! But where is everyone else?"

Speaking of pets, I went to Petsmart yesterday afternoon. Petsmart is sorta like a regular pet store crossed with WalMart. Food, bowls, toys, collars, a grooming area, a vet, various furry friends for adoption and sale. Pet friends are welcome as long as their on a leash. Became fascinated by the mouse display. Such tiny, furry critters racing back and forth. I wondered if Stuart Little was there, but I couldn't tell. Left with 60 cans of kitten food! At the rate the feline munchkins eat, I'm hoping that will last a few days.

Had dinner last night with a friend at one of the neo-Italian places with a brick oven. As usual I had salmon which was slightly overcooked. We make a quick stop by Barnes and Noble on the way back. Lots of folks milling around, reading the mags, lounging in the overstuffed chairs, having coffee and dessert in the coffee and dessert shop. A musician was there with something akin to a dulcimer, save it was played with sticks like a xylophone, instead of plucked. Impressive ethereal sound, though it may have been lost on the masses.

At home, we spent an hour trying to figure out how to access his AOL account from my laptop. You can use the guest option but that does not give you any editing features such as being able to delete a screen name. Help was no help. Finally had to admit defeat. Surely there are users who share the same computer.

PAX!
