contours provocations

I've been having problems with Netscape of late, so I thought I'd upgrade to the newest version. Started to download and realized it would take hours. Opted to buy a CD from Netscape plus a manual. When I got home this afternoon, the package was waiting by the back door under the mat. (Thick package, so it was not exactly hidden by the mat. Looked more like a mole was trying to burrow into the concrete.) I sometimes wonder if upgrades are worth the hassle. I suppose it will serve its purpose if it makes for a more stable environment. I've gotten version 4.5 on one of the machines at work, but I'm not overwhelmed with any new "gosh, golly, gee" features. Have been testing audio formats, Read Audio and Media Player, for a couple of weeks at work. Both have problems with "net congestion." And it is very difficult to compare audio quality because it varies so much from channel to channel. The work connection is suppose to be at least a T-1, but I'm not sure it reaches that speed. And speed is always contingent on the lowest, slowest link in the electronic chain. You can have a super highway, but if you use a Model T, you still have Model T speeds. Have spent a lot of time with Radio GoGaGa which has THE most eclectic mix I've encountered. Actually heard Honor Blackman and Patrick Macnee of "The Avengers" singing something called "Kinky Boots"! You've just got to love a song that has lines like "thigh-high, slinky boots" and "leather is so kinky." This has to date from the early '60s, since Blackman left the show in '64. The American audience is far more familiar with her successor, Dame Diana Rigg. I've seen a couple of the Blackman episodes, and Honor is impressive. GoGaGa may play rap followed by an old Johnny Cash cut followed by jazz followed by lounge music. An excerpt from "The Sound of Music." Sitar music. The theme from "Vertigo." Something entitled "I was young and needed the money." Very old Southern gospel songs. Dietrich. When I got home, I had to spend 15 minutes cleaning up after the cats. Amazing how when one get sick, it will rush into the living room and jump on the dining table. As adorable and cute as they are, their sense of logic escapes me. Part of the problem, I'm certain, comes from nibbling on plastic bags. Minerva seems to be addicted to it. Bring home groceries in a plastic bag, and within 30 seconds, she's chewing away. Well, this seems to be about as profound as I'm going to be for the evening.
PAX!
