"Have you come here to play Jesus ..."

"That '70s Show" is flitting across the screen. Wonderful! Career day for the group! Eric in the hospital with nurse mom. Fez with Stephen's lunchroom mom. Poor Mike, trying to understand what his statistician father does, hasn't got a clue, finally says, "I'm going to say you're a farmer." Great set of characters. Various parents are as funny as the kids without being ridiculous.

"X-Files" seems to be doing a variation of "Groundhog Day." The mad bank robber, I think, is the actor who played Ed on "Northern Exposures." (Yep, it is!) Talk about a change! This guy is a complete scumbag psycho. (One problem though, the teeth are too good.)

Have given up on the telee for the evening. I can't watch Nikita and dribble at the same time. (Depends on what I'm eating. Groan!)

I'm trying to remember what I did today. Lunch at the ice cream/salad/soup/sandwich place. A zip into "Books A Million." Bought "Archit." a trade-paper-like mag on architecture. Came home, teleneted to the server at work, spent several hours trying to stay ahead. Called friend A who has sold house and moved in with friend B. Both said what a strain it had been. Boxes, boxes, boxes.

Actually listened to a couple of cd cuts. "One" from U2's "Achtung Baby."

"Have you here for forgiveness
Have you come to raise the dead
Have you come here to play Jesus
To the lepers in your head."
The other was "Eleanor Rigby" from The Beatles' "Revolver."
"Wearing the face she keeps in
a jar by the door."
"Father McKensie wiping the dirt from his hands
as he walks from the grave.
No one was saved."

PAX!
