contours provocations
journal - 1999-0224 - wed journal | archives | home | e-mail Overtired Glorious Mother Sun was in place this morning; no doubt, having been off dancing the limbo in Trinidad. I'm on the couch with four feline companions who appear to be in one big furry puddle. Hard to say where one stops and another begins. Digital Cable Radio (Music Choice) is set to channel now called "Atmospheres," but used to be called "New Age." Some must fear that listening to something called new age music will increase incidents of paganism among household members. Actually, music is mix of ambient, space age, rave-like, low-key-techno, world, indigenous. Some of it has the tinge of "elevator music." But, on the whole, very evocative. And some of it is pure rapture. It seems to suit my mood for the evening. I feel "over-tired" to quote Frost. A week of drudgery has screwed my serotonin levels I'm sure. Off to the laundry after work. Not my favorite pastime, but I'd rather do it on a Wednesday than the weekend when the washers and dryers are in short supply. Of course, it is always interesting to see who shows up at the laundry. Great melting pot of society. (Washer and dryer that came with the house are beyond repair. But the cats do like to hide behind them. And I can not afford any more debt for the next ten or 20 years.) Started the wash, scooted to the PO to check box and drop off letters. Only a copy of "Info World" in box - not very sexy. Back to laundry, washer with socks and undies was unbalanced and making bizarre noises like an android in heat. Read newspaper. Threw stuff into dryer. Finished. Darted home with baskets. Hung up hang-up-items. Made bed. Cleaned cat litter boxes. Vacuumed cat hair - a never-ending job. Fished remainder of roast beef sandwich from fridge. (Bought at lunch at deli.) Chomped away. Felines were upset that daddy didn't share. Played with assorted images for possible use on web site. Gave up. Nothing seemed right. Time to stop. Upload. Check for non-existent messages. Check a few other journals. PAX!
