Cocooning

Mother Sun skipped town again this morn leaving nothing behind but wooly homogenized clouds. A cold wind snapped and jerked at the trees like a demented liontamer as people clutched at coat and scarf and thought of the return of the swallow.

It was a great morning to curl up and be pre-natal and drift upstream. The cats and I stayed in bed and cocooned until almost noon. I did finish reading two copies of "Rolling Stone." Magazines, books and newspapers never seem to quite get finished, and then I forget where I am. Maybe I could attach large post-it notes to them, and when I put the attachee down, I could note the time and date. Hmmmm!!!! The worst problem seems to be with the Sunday editions of "The New York Times." Takes me forever to complete one. Oh! I wonder if that nice Mr. Nixon that I was reading about last week has a chance to become vice-president.

Lunch was a cobb salad and iced tea at an ice cream/sandwich/salad place. Three families showed up with assorted kids and tried to determine who would sit with whom. Lots of chair moving and casual debate ensued. I'm being to wonder if I'm a character in some Truman-Show-like production and each time I leave home, master control center directs a set of quasi-loonies in my direction. An option that I'm considering is to become like some minor Mafia figure who always goes to the same restaurant where the staff is always aware of your needs. A small table in the back near the red velvet curtains and away from the kitchen.

"That '70s Show" and "The X-Files" are finished. Love the " '70s Show" with its very sly and unpredictable quirky humor. Eric, Michael, Steve and Fez are wonderful. Best part was the parody of a '50s com. Has anyone noticed that it has never been mentioned where Fez is from. "X-Files" dealt with a creepy-crawly from the ocean's depths.

The muse and Elvis have left the buidling for the night.

PAX!
