WHAT'S NEW AT SUMRALL
JR. HIGH??
The 8th grade has been working really hard on their Veterans of Foreign Wars essays. We would like to thank Camp Shelby for letting us come and enjoy their Armed Forces Museum. We had a great time.
We would like to give a special thanks to Sgt. Husted!
Congratulations to Sumrall’s junior high winners in the VFW Essay Contest “My Pledge to America.” We had 100% participation from the 7th and 8th graders —over 200 students! The top five finalists were chosen by Mr. Ron Fortenberry, high school history teacher. These five will advance to the Post competition in Hattiesburg to compete against area schools and have a chance to advance to the state and perhaps even the nation. Sumrall’s top junior high winners in the VFW contest are
Anna Aultman, Aimee Carpenter, Julie Lawrence, Audra Miller, Christopher Ray
Congratulations, students, we are proud of you and of all the 7th and 8th graders who put so much effort into your essays. You are true Americans!
