Chase McGinnis
Chase McGinnis was born
on October 24, 1983 in Starkville, Mississippi, but considers himself to be from Sturgis, Mississippi,
where he has strong family ties. He
began singing at the young age of six for local churches and area
events. He has performed with various
artists such as
Ray Price, Doug Stone, John Huey, and Don Helms. His
singing style can be classified as a
traditional country/southern gospel mix and says he was inspired by
Elvis
Presley, Merle Haggard, and his dad, Jerry McGinnis.
He is the lead singer for Self Creek Band and
plays the acoustic guitar and electric guitar.
His dream is to become a recording artist in Nashville.
Chase owns and operates
McGinnis Landscaping which he started in 2003.
Some of his hobbies, apart from music, include hunting, fishing
and
spending time with family, friends, and Smokin
Joe,
his chocolate Lab.
Chase recently traveled
to Birmingham
to audition for American Idol. He made
it through Round 1 and returns for Round 2 on September 15th
