(Success in the Real World)

Devoted Wife and Mom.  Homeschool Teacher.  Amateur Photographer.  Erstwhile Dancer.  Mary Kay Consultant.  Lover of Jesus.  Leah O’Gwynn Kackley claims many roles in her life, but stays busy with her full time job as mom and teacher to Sarah, Noah, and Molly.  Her sweet husband since 2002, Jason Kackley, is the other ZooKeeper to their precious collection of monkeys.  She became a full time mother when their first child was born and began the journey of Home Education when Sarah entered Kindergarten.

Leah was Mississippi’s Junior Miss (the program now called Distinguished Young Women) in 1989 and went on to attend Mississippi University for Women, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in Mathematics.  At M.U.W., she was President of the Lockheart Social Club, among many other activities, and performed leading roles in such ballets as Sleeping Beauty, the Nutcracker, Graduation Ball, and Coppelia.

Fast forward just a few years, and she is on the Board of Directors for the Rankin County Junior Miss/Distinguished Young Woman program and is the chair of the Production Committee.  Leah also judges local and state JM/DYW programs.

She is a member of Grace Primitive Baptist Church and is a member of the family’s homeschool support group, CHEC (Christian Home Educators Connection).  Her days are full of finger paints, math lessons, diaper changes, lunch-fixin’, book reading, Charlotte Mason style narrating, blog posting, playing with the Nikon, and a whole lotta prayer.
