Physiology and Behavior Therapy: Conceptual Guidelines for the Clinician was published 1986 by the Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York. Professor S. Rachman at the University of British Columbia stated that "Hollandsworth's systematic and lucid approach to the subject is welcome, and the result is a book that is both instructive and interesting." Despite such comments, the book met with limited success, and in 1994 ownership of the copies that remained unsold was transferred to the Duraflame Corporation of Stockton, California.

Hollandsworth's second book, The Physiology of Psychological Disorders: Schizophrenia, Depression, Anxiety, and Substance Abuse," met wiith greater success. Also published by Plenum, the book was selected as one of the outstanding academic works of 1990 by Choice, a journal of book reviews and the offical organ of the Association of College and Research Libraries. The Physiology of Psychological Disorders is in its second printing and is still available from the publisher.
