Hi, my name is Whiskers! I know what you are thinking. Cat's name right? Well, my mistress says she was thinking Gabe Hayes kind of Whiskers.. go figure.. I am a West Highland White Terrier. Actually I have a middle name too, it's Flannery!
My job is to bark when strangers come to the door, and lay across my mistress's feet in the winter to keep them warm and just provide a little fun and entertainment from time to time.
I don't like the computer too much because sometimes it takes away from my playtime. So I just jump into her lap and let her know so..
Terriers are great dogs, and to think she started out looking for a POODLE!! She said she saw this tiny 4 month old dog with a water dish in his mouth swinging all the water out and onto the other two puppies in the same cage, knew he was the dog for her.. And that dog was ME!
She says I am a great watch/guard dog, cause I let her know when anyone is within 50 feet of the house.

Westies are also very family friendly dogs. I have adopted everyone in the family and insist on greeting each one... I'm not perfect though, I have been known to try a few male family members by nipping them in the (behind) to put it delicately... Not biting just nipping...I got into big trouble for doing that...once I know them, well, I just don't think they need the warning, don't like people to get to close too quickly to my mistress.. I do try and behave most of the time.
