This is a rare photograph showing the spider and other monsters at the bottom of the crevasse in King Kong. The sequence originally called for Kong to shake the sailors off the log and they fell into the crevasse where spiders, scorpions and other creatures ate the wounded sailors.

Merian C. Cooper decided that the footage showing the spiders was too shocking and drew attention away from the main plot action so he removed it from the film before it was released in 1933. So far, this film has never been found and all that remains of this animated sequence are two photographs and a sketch.
