Although King Kong was a creature of fantasy and art, he was inspired by beautiful and noble creatures that today are sadly among the most endangered animals on earth. Fewer than 650 mountain gorillas and 40,000 lowland gorillas are left in the world. Here are a few sites dedicated to the preservation of the gorilla in the wild.
