My History

I was born in Jackson, Mississippi on June 16, 1963. That makes me a gemini, although I'm not sure how much I believe in that stuff.

My parents gave me the name Alexander Boyd Campbell for my uncle Boyd who passed away just a few months before. He had quite a reputation as a businessman and a community leader. The name has been good to me and my initials, ABC, are certianly easy to remember.

Through my formative years, I had just two passions: drawing and monster movies.

It seems like I've always been around Millsaps College. My Grandfather graduated from Millsaps. My uncle Boyd, his brother, also went to Millsaps and served on the board for many years. My brothers and my sister graduated from Millsaps too. As a child, my father would take me to football games there. He graduated from Ole Miss but went to Millsaps and liked it so much he served as Chairman of the Board for many years.

I graduated from Millsaps several years ago but I returned for a while recently to learn a thing or two about putting on a play. I learned that there may not be anyting I like quite so much--and I met some really great people along the way.

My home church is Galloway Memorial United Methodist in Jackson, Mississippi.

you didn't know I was santa My best friend Jack thought Santa had a white beard. It kinna took him a while to warm up to Father Christmas but eventually he decided he still loved me--even in a costume.

how many yankees were there? When I first went to Millsaps I pledged the Alpha Mu chapter of KAPPA ALPHA ORDER. I'm an alumni now and it's true what they say: the values espoused by Robert E. Lee and the Kappa Alpha Order do stay with you all of your life.

The very bad Kitty Lots of people have been asking to see this little guy. We met when he was living in a dumpster at Burger King. I've always suspected that his attachment to me had something to do with his desire for better living conditions. Don't ask his name. Since he's a cat, I didn't think it was right to give him a person's name. His name is in cat language and since everyone knows cats don't write I can't print it here.

What's in a name? It seems "Boyd" has a lot going for it.

This is my other best friend, Cap. He's real new. They say he looks like me, but I hope he ends up with more hair.
