My Manami-chan Cels!

These are some of my favorite Kimagure Orange Road collectibles - cels of Kasuga Manami, my favorite KOR character.

The first cel comes from TV episode 9, "Kurumi-chan date no shikata oshiemasu" (Kurumi, I'll Teach You To Date) - The scene is where Manami asks Kurumi if she's okay after exerting an abnormal amount of "Power" earlier that morning. This cel was purchased at Anime Expo 96, from the cel dealer at the entrance of the dealer's room (I believe it was Anime Wink - if anybody knows for sure, please contact me to confirm this.).

And heres's another Manami cel - from TV episode 28, "Kikenna kesshin! Manami-chan no daibouken!" (Dangerous Decision! Manami-chan's Big Adventure!) This is the scene where Manami (out on the town after a glamorous makeover) is confronted by three sukeban (delinquent girls) for the first time. This cel was purchased from Ed Noonchester Artwork in September of 1996.

This Manami cel is from the first KOR movie, "Ano Hi ni Kaeritai" (I Wan To Return To That Day) It's the scene after Kyousuke tells Hikaru not to call him anymore. As he goes back into his bedroom, Manami says, "Hikaru-chan was crying, you know," but Kyousuke ignores her and shuts the door behind him. The look on Manami's face tells everything about that scene... This cel was purchased from Asylum Comics And Anime in August of 1999.

And this is the pencil drawing for the cel. You can see smudges of paint on the drawing (especially her cheek) from having been stored behind the cel, but at least the paper didn't get stuck to the paint...)

This is the next Manami cel I bought - it's from KOR episode 21, "Kyousuke pinch! Arashi ga oka no amai sasayaki " (Kyousuke Thrown In A Pinch! Sweet Soft Nothings At The Wuthering Heights) You can't have cute twins in a show without showing both of them in a scene at least once, and here's an excellent cel that does that. It comes from the opening scene, where Kurumi is using the Power to telekinetically fly Jingoro to the mountain resort site where the gang is staying. Manami has to remind her - a bit forcefully - that this is no place to act so recklessly! This cel was purchased from Usagi's House in October of 1999.

And this is the latest Manami cel - it's from KOR episode 38, "Kyosuke jikanryokou! 3 do me no Christmas" (Kyousuke Timetrips! The Third Christmas) Oh, my - this is definitely a cel which will get your attention... In this sequence, Manami tries to keep Kurumi from borrowing her red dress for the upcoming Christmas party. (She wants to wear it herself! ^_^) She hangs onto it fiercely, but unfortunately the dress turns out to not be as strong as her resolve... This cel was purchased from Asylum Comics And Anime in June of 2000.
