| The Bible Through the Year The
Bible's "Greatest Hits." I hope to include all the core teachings and
chronological scriptures related to the church year by Holy Week 1999. (I didn't quite
make it. Maybe in 2000...)
The Bible in the Church Year
Advent
Advent begins the Church year. It begins on the Sunday closest
to Nov. 30 (Feast of St. Andrew) and continues for 4 Sundays. It is a time for preparation
and rejoicing. We prepare for Christ's coming at Christmas, at the end of time, during our
lives, and at our death. We rejoice in rememberance of his birth in Bethlehem.
